    The plane from the 351st Bomber Squadron of the US Air Force's 100th Bomber Group was damaged by anti-aircraft fire during a raid on Frankfurt on 24 January 1944.
    The stern rifleman Roy Urich was thrown overboard by the blast, but he survived and was taken prisoner by the Germans.
    This aircraft was repaired and re-entered the 100th Bomber Group.
