An Ode to .. Kamala

Don’t look up
High above the clouds,
On the viewing deck of the Mighty Tower of Brat,
A gentle zephyr plays on the Holy Campaign Team
Who sit around sipping iced tea on satin poufs
Checking celebrity endorsements on TikTok.
Empress of the Free World-elect Kamala admires
The giant Democratic strategy sitting on the table:
An intricate house of cards built on shifting sands.
“It’s in the bag,” says Kamala.
Her new ally LLady Liz Cheney nods in agreement.
Ol’ Pappy Biden leans awkwardly in his seat
And raises his eyebrows.
“By appealing to the Barbarians of the House Orange,
we will steal all their divisions,
While our Woke Legions will have nowhere else to go,”
explains Kamala.
“It’s fiendishly clever – and has never been tried before!”
Her new ally Lord Dick Cheney nods in agreement.
“They’ll never know what hit them,”
Says Kamala as she skims through another
Reel of celebrity endorsements on TikTok.
There is a bumping from a cupboard.
“That’s just Bernie,” says Kamala.
“We’ll keep him in there until after the election.”
Ol’ Pappy Biden is looking more and more
Uncomfortable and is motioning towards the sky.
Kamala wanders to the edge of the Mighty Tower of Brat.
A small group with signs far below is forlornly waving.
“Who are they?” Asks Kamala, Empress-in-waiting.
“Just some protestors about the Benighted Land of Gaz,”
Advises her Chief Press Scribe.
Kamala leans over the balcony.
“I’m speaking!” She yells. “Get it?”
Ol’ Pappy Biden is now raising his eyebrows furiously.
He is turning a bright red colour.
“Now, now, Pappy,” says Kamala.
“You had your go – now it’s my turn!”
Just then a large shadow falls across the sun.
Kamala looks up.
“What in the name …” says the Empress to be.
A giant tangerine asteroid comprised of solidified
Toxic gas is bearing down on them at great speed,
Spurting out jets of foul liquid and sulphurous flames.
It blots out the entire sky.
“Quick – protect our strategy at all costs!”
Yells Kamala:
But it is too late.
